Every CVCD school follows the non-formal education curriculum standards and are recognized by the Royal Government of Cambodia as legitimate non-formal education (NFE) Institutions.

Many children continue their education past CVCD’s primary schools because families are unable to support the costs of attending secondary school. The Scholarship Project allocates money and rice to these students, allowing them to continue their studies in state-run secondary schools by covering fees, materials, and transportation costs.

CVCD also provides the opportunity for donors to sponsor a child’s continued education. For $20 per month, your contribution will keep a student in school by providing funds to cover materials, transportation, and food. CVCD will send a short biography and picture of the student as well as regular updates on his/her progress.

Kindergarten

CVCD currently runs three kindergarten classes, for 92 children aged 4-5 years old who would otherwise not have the means to attend the public schools provided by the government.

Our kindergarten students are enthusiastic and grateful to be at school. Teachers build on this enthusiasm and offer elementary projects in Khmer language and literacy, introduce the children to English, teach basic arithmetic, and provide an environment for students to practice and develop social skills.

Our kindergarteners have access to high-quality education at an affordable rate of $5 USD per year. These initiatives work towards meeting the World Bank’s Second Millennium Development Goal of achieving universal primary education.

Khmer and English Classes (Grades 1 to 6)

Effective communication in Khmer and English are critical for future success in the workplace.

CVCD’s Khmer and English classes teach students basic communication skills and follow the NFE curriculum standards. Students are encouraged to incorporate as much Khmer and English into their daily life as possible and are given the opportunity to speak and interact with international visitors to build a strong language foundation.

Computer Class

Computer classes focus on skills like typing, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint, Photoshop, and general internet browsing. These classes are taught in English to further promote fluency.
